Medical support (for genetic parents)

If you need assistance to conceive, it is by no means a tragedy! The IVF procedure and the best specialists will assist you. Medicine has attained the highest level of technology and today uses a whole variety of methods.
After medical examination and consultations, a decision to undertake IVF by means of surrogacy can be made. It is your way to become a mother. You are the couple deserving particular attention and your baby is to be deeply desired! The process is the only thing that differentiates you to a degree from others!

During the surrogacy process, stimulants are prescribed to a genetic mother, which assist her to grow more follicles where oocytes develop. Necessary medicines are prescribed to the surrogate mother to synchronize the menstrual cycles of genetic and surrogate mother. These procedures prepare the endometrium for embryo transfer.

The genetic mother’s cycle is carefully monitored, ultrasound investigations made and blood oestradiol levels checked. When the follicles have grown, a medicine favoring the clustering of  oocytes is prescribed and follicle centesis is undertaken. Centesis is an out-patient treatment, in a day surgery under intravenous anesthesia, using special ultrasonic equipment. As a result, oocytes are taken from the genetic mother’s ovaries to fertilize them with the husband’s sperm. After centesis, the patient stays in the clinic for one to two hours.

The ova are fertilized by the husband’s sperm cells in-vitro. Apart from IVF, there is also ICSI available (Intra Сytoplasmic Sperm Injection). ICSI is used even when there are minimal sperm changes. One reason for this procedure is when only a small number of ovules (five or less) is obtained. By this method, the healthiest sperm cells are selected and inserted in the ovule with the assistance of special instruments. They cultivate the oocytes and make the embryo transfer into a surrogate mother. The embryo transfer is made between the second and fifth day. The best day for embryo transfer depends on different factors and is set by the doctor. It is recommended to transfer not more than one or two embryos into the uterine cavity but it is possible to transfer more with patient consent. Special elastic catheters are used for embryo transfer, inserted in the uterine cavity through the cervical canal.

The rest of the embryos are cryopreserved (frozen in liquid nitrogen) to be used in future cycles, if the initial IVF attempt is unsuccessful.  Intended parents do not have to repeat the entire IVF program for repeated attempts. It is sufficient to prepare the surrogate mother endometrium and to accomplish the embryo transfer. Cryo-cycle (with the use of frozen embryos) offers the possibility for intended parents to attain their goal - pregnancy. There is no need for intended parents to stay in the country where the surrogate mother program is offered, providing all documents and a contract have been signed.

The reproductive medicine doctor will give you more detailed information about the medical program.
